Online Communities

A group of people participating in a virtual meeting, holding up drawings of houses.

Over the years, I’ve built a little constellation of creative hangouts online—question-driven bingo nights, spooky storytelling, IG Live chats, and a whole lot of joyful experimentation. People show up, make things, laugh, and leave feeling a little more inspired (and a little less alone).

Below are a few of the gatherings I’ve created to spark connection and belonging — moments where we got to experiment, play, and build community together.

February 25, 2021
A purpose-driven community bingo night where connection was the real prize. We invited participants to meet, share stories, and complete creative mini-challenges — including drawing their childhood homes in under 30 seconds.

Count on Me: Art Accountability Group
$25.00

Start your year with a little spark. Every Friday in January, our group of crafty folks will meet from 8–9 AM ET for an easy, low-pressure hour of writing, morning pages, painting, doodling, pottery, or whatever creative act fills your cup.

This isn’t about being productive. It’s about ending your week doing something that fuels you—not something you feel like you should do. If you want a cozy corner to show up, make something, and feel cheered on, this is your spot.

$25 for 5 Fridays

Come play, make, scribble, create. You can count on this hour. 💛

Ghost Stories Writing Competition

March 12, 2021
An eerie evening dedicated to folklore, nightmares, and sleep paralysis storytelling. Writers submitted original pieces, actors performed live readings, and the night began — naturally — with Polish vampires. Congratulations to our winners, Dannie and Karen.

Instagram Lives

A collection of IG Live gatherings that invite folks into the intimate details of film production and celebrate fellow artists. From indie producer chats to psychological breakdowns of the characters and more!

The Cutting Room Floor with Professor Christina DeHaven-Call

We were honored to be joined by our mentor and dear friend Christina DeHaven-Call (@filmdehaven) — producer of shorts, features, docs, Sundance selections, Tribeca premieres, HBO films, and Associate Chair of Production at NYU/Tisch.

Christina led us through the strange, emotional world of scenes that never make the final cut — and what they teach us about storytelling.

Scenes That Don’t Make the Screen with the creators of The Rushing of the Sea

We teamed up with @therushingofthesea (David Martin, Ian Schiller, Molly Karna) for a night of reading cut scenes, comparing early drafts, and watching the evolution of Sleep Talking and their own film through countless iterations.

A celebration of the messy, magical drafting process.

IG Live with Psychology After Dark

Co-hosts Jessica and David — clinical psychologists by day, podcast hosts by night — joined us to talk about the psychological roots woven through Sleep Talking.

Their podcast explores cases like:
• The Unabomber
• Stanford Prison Experiment
• Gypsy Rose Blanchard

We talked fear, dreams, paralysis, memory, and the science behind horror.

NY Urban Legends

To wrap up the creepiest part of the year, Brooklyn Fright Night joined us for an evening of New York ghost stories and folklore — a dim-light, blanket-wrapped séance of storytelling.

Halloween Horror Trivia

A live event to celebrate the best holiday of the year — free merch giveaways, horror trivia rounds, and community chaos.

Script Read-Throughs

We hosted multiple public read-throughs of Sleep Talking, letting the community listen in as scenes evolved and shifted — an inside look at the writing process and the characters finding their voices.

Elixir Mixer + Spellwork Speakeasy

Crowdfund Launch Event
A two-part virtual gathering: cocktail crafting followed by a mystery-driven gameplay experience. Hosted by writer/journalist @thebowiecat (Sophie St. Thomas) and bartender @charis.storms. Crowdfund donors received secret clues, recipes, and access.
